A world of opportunities

We offer a wide range of programs and experiences to help students thrive. From STEM and sport to the creative arts and more, our broad curriculum encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program includes authentic, real-world learning experiences such as podcasting—tune in to Coogee and the Coast on your preferred streaming platform. Students also take part in the Game Changer Challenge, collaborating to solve real-world problems with creativity and innovation.

Our vibrant dance program features lyrical, hip hop and contemporary groups and we proudly participate in the annual Schools Spectacular, while our specialist visual arts program ensures all students spend an hour each week in a purpose-built art studio.

We also offer a dynamic music program, including instrument tuition and a thriving band program that gives students opportunities to develop their musical skills and perform as part of an ensemble.

Our students have access to:
  • Excursions that extend learning beyond the classroom
  • Incursions that bring experts and real-world experiences into the school
  • A wide range of extra-curricular activities that support interests and talents
  • A broad and balanced curriculum covering a wide variety of subjects.

Tailored learning support

We know every child learns in their own way, which is why we provide tailored learning support to help each student achieve their best. Our programs are designed to meet a wide range of needs, including support for high potential and gifted learners, students with disability or additional needs, students learning English as an additional language (EAL/D), and those requiring wellbeing support.

Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) initiatives include extension opportunities across key learning areas, delivered in a targeted and supportive way to challenge and engage advanced learners. We also offer K–6 public speaking, spelling bee and debating programs that develop confidence, critical thinking and effective communication skills.

For reading intervention, we use Macquarie University’s research-informed MiniLit and MacqLit programs, which complement our K–2 InitiaLit phonics program.

Flexible groupings based on ongoing data allow us to target learning effectively across the school.

Our Bump It Up groups in English and mathematics give students the extra boost they need to move confidently to the next stage in their learning.

Wellbeing is embedded across the school through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), our Learning Powers, and the Grow Your Mind program. Together, these approaches help students build emotional awareness, resilience, positive relationships and a strong sense of self.

At our school, every child is known, valued and supported to succeed. Please contact the school to learn more about how we support learning and engagement.

We offer students:
  • Student Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) working alongside teachers in the classroom
  • Targeted teaching and learning adjustments to meet individual needs
  • Extension activities that challenge and extend high-potential learners
  • Wellbeing and counselling support to help students feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
