Pick Up Zone (PUZ) runs along Byron Street each afternoon from 2:55pm-3:15pm. The PUZ allows parents to collect their child/children without needing to find a parking spot.
How the Pick-Up Zone works:
- At 2.55pm, the PUZ bell will ring. Registered students will make their way to the PUZ area (at the silver seats near the main Byron Street gate, closest to the office).
Parents will create a car line down Byron Street. Registered families will be given a laminated sign with their child’s surname to display clearly in their car. Names will be called by the Principal and Deputy Principal as the cars move down to the Byron Street gate. The students will walk out to their car after being called.
The PUZ is a ‘No Standing Zone’, therefore parents are not able to exit their vehicles to assist their child into the car or to put school bags in the boot. Duty teachers are always on hand to assist the students with bags and car doors.
If you would like to utilise the Pick-Up Zone:
Fill in the Pick Up Zone form and email it to the school at coogee-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au to request your child joins PUZ. Your laminated sign will be sent home with your child as soon as possible.
Please notify your child’s classroom teacher of the days that you have registered for the PUZ so that we can create an accurate list of who will be taken down by one of our teachers. If your plans change throughout the term, please let us know.
